"EAT LIFE JAPAN"
2023
Meisei University
Tokyo, Japan
During my first trip to Japan, I met my friend and a very talented artist, Takemi Nishimoto.

After catching up over lunch, he took me to Meisei University, where he headed the architecture department. He showed me the new library he had designed, particularly a large blank wall facing the outdoor public patio.
"This wall is for you," he said, announcing his plan to launch a rotating art wall, with me as the first featured artist.

Honored by the opportunity, I immediately jumped at the chance. Within a week, I was back, painting the mural.
It took me two and a half days to complete.
I wanted to capture the cherry blossom season, which was in full bloom during my visit. Naturally, I also included my slogan, "Eat Life."
The students and faculty were absolutely incredible. It was a great honor to leave something behind for Japan, and I can’t wait to return and create more work there.

Thank you Takemi and the Meisei University Family!
